In a just world, an All Blues single would outsell Josh Groban.
This is not a just world.

Maybe if Josh Groban did a cover. You know, with some pep.

too true…although it is also sad, somewhat less so, that Kind of Blue is the extent of most people’s exposure to Jazz.
Man, i would rather listen to that rhythm section’s work with Wes Montgomery any day of the week.

Yeah, you know, it’s weird - even though it’s a great album, and the only true jazz record a lot of people are familiar with, Kind of Blue is one of those rare instances where the sum winds up less than its parts. I like any number of my Miles, Coltrane, Bill Evans or Cannonball Adderley albums better than I like Kind of Blue. But hell, I’d rather lots of people listen to a slightly-overrated-yet-still-undeniably-excellent bop album than have them listen to, I don’t know, Norah Jones.
